Sweet Andy

We just had the sweetest experience with Andy. He was playing in our backyard with some buddies and they found a little bird that was hurt. They were really concerned about it so they came and got some adults. After all of our guests left, Andy was still concerned about "birdy". He wanted to go find her. We got a flash light and found her. She was in pretty bad shape, but we didn't know what to do, so we put her in a tree. Charles then explained to Andy that Birdy may not live very long and that she would go to heaven. Andy asked if we could "tell Heavenly Father that we found Birdy and that she was hurt" He said the sweetest little prayer (I'm not gonna lie, I was bawling) Then we talked a little more about heaven. We told him that Grandpa Zeke would be there to take care of Birdy. Andy asked if he could go there too. We explained that he needed to stay here on earth with us. Andy asked again if we could tell Heavenly Father that we found Birdy. He was so concerned about her. It was so sweet to see his concern and compassion for that little bird. We are so blessed to have such a sweetheart in our home!

Father's day and beyond

I found this super fun site with printable Star Wars stuff. I had tons of fun doing it for Charles for Father's day. He loved it and Andy thinks it super awesome. Andy's favorite one is the "Vaderade"

This week Dallin started eating with a spoon. These are pics of his first time. He did pretty well considering.....

We took the boys camping at South Fork a few weeks ago. They LOVED it! On Friday evening we let them play in the stream that runs though the camp. They both loved throwing rocks and mud. At one point Dallin was just smearing mud all over his legs.

For my birthday (in March) I got this new bed frame. I also found this duvet cover and pillows that I loved.

I repainted our night stand and then covered some boxes in wrapping paper and scrap book paper. I know this is a little OCD, but I also wrapped the tissue box in matching paper. I love how it all turned out.

Yes, that is a bike helmet on Andy :)

My cute sister Michelle came to visit from Washington. They boys absolutely adored her and her husband Ben. Normally, when I read bedtime stories to the boys, Dallin will listen to about 1 book and then he is done. When Michelle read to them, Dallin sat for 3 books! He kept looking over at me and giggling and then looking back at the book. We love our Chell!!

Where have my babies gone?

At the beginning of this month Dallin turned 1! I can't believe its already been a year! He is so much fun to have in our family. He is very happy and easy-going. He loves his big brother and always wants to see what Andy is up to. He LOVES his daddy. When Charles walks in the door from work, Dallin goes crazy until Charles picks him up and kisses him. One time he was cuddling with Charles and I came up and laid my head on Charles' shoulder, Dallin pushed my face away. I tried to lay my head back on Charles' shoulder, Dallin pushed me away again! I guess he just needed some daddy time.
I brought Dallin to his 1 year check up this week. He is doing well. He is a little guy though. He is in the 20th percentile for height and the 12th percentile for weight! Lets be honest though, he's not exactly coming from tall genes!!
Dallin didn't quite know what to do with the cupcake. He ate a little bit, but, he mostly squished his fingers in it.

Andy also had a birthday this month. He is now 3!! I can't believe it! As many of you know, he LOVES robots. I went a little crazy with the robot stuff, but it was fun! This was my idea for the cupcakes at Andy's birthday party. However, the robots were too heavy and kept falling over. So, we just did plain cupcakes for his party.
I had fun finding things for these little treat bags.

Here is the booty that was inside the treat bags. The kids loved the robot suckers!
I found this robot set at Target and had to get it! Andy thought it was pretty awesome!
Here is Andy with his 2 little friends at his birthday party. Unfortunately, 3 of his other buddies couldn't make it due to illness and prior plans. I think the boys still had fun though.
Charles drew these fun robots for the boys to color. We also filled balloons with candy for them to pop. The boys also enjoyed just playing with toys together.

The Birthday Boy. He was super cute as we sang to him. He sang the song with us and when we said "Dear Andy" he got this huge smile on his face!

My boys

I had a coupon to get some free pictures at Sears. It wasn't easy to get both boys to smile at the same time. Here is my favorite one. Ummmm, when you get this on a Christmas card pretend you haven't seen it yet!

October

We have had a busy October. Charles brother, Leonard, got married (i'll post those pics later), we've had hikes, parties, work and I'm studying for a national certification exam. When I pass the exam I will be a certified Diabetes educator! So, these pictures are of a hike Charles took Andy on. Charles is in the young mens presidency, so they are working on merit badges. This 10 mile hike was part of the hiking merit badge. There is no better time to go hiking than the fall. Look at those gorgeous leaves!

So, I have to tell you about that spider bag. I bought it at Target a few weeks ago. Andy LOVES it. He carries it around everywhere. He sleeps with it, eats with it and even tries to sneak it into the bathroom when its potty time ( I had to draw the line there!). We went to a Trunk'or Treat the night before this hike. Andy wanted to take the spider bag and candy on the hike. Charles said Andy held the bag the entire 10 miles!

So, the scouts aren't the fastest hikers. It took them about 8 hours to do the 10 mile hike! Bless their hearts! Andy took a little nap. If you look closely, you can see drool going down his face!
On Sunday we went to Bart's house for a family Halloween party. We had a chili cook off and costume contest. It was a super fun night. While we were waiting for everyone to get there, we took the kids outside to play in the leaves. I love this picture of Addison!

Andy loved it. In the picture below you can see his leg sticking out. It was a pretty deep pile to jump into.

3 cute little Bees! Hannah and Addison are Bart's girls and then our cute little Dallin.
My cute sister-in-law, Holly, made this skunk costume for her son Aaron. It seriously looked store bought, she is pretty much a pro! He won the costume contest by a landslide, you can see why. The kids loved his big tail. They all wanted to lay on it and pull it. Obviously Aaron didn't love that, so his costume came off fairly quickly.

Here is our little spider Andy and our little Bee Dallin.

The beloved spider bag. The other funny thing about this whole situation is that Andy doesn't even want to eat the candy. He carried it around all weekend without eating a single piece!
At this point Andy's costume started falling apart. You can kind of see the spider legs we made. It was a fun month and we are looking forward to a fun/crazy/busy fall!
